GPA/ Class Rank Calculation

GPA/Class Rank Calculation

The purpose for ranking students is to give colleges an accurate picture of which students have distinguished themselves with a selection of challenging courses and have excelled within those courses over the four years of high school.

Rank will be calculated by weighted GPA. Final rank for seniors will be determined after the 7th semester for college admission and scholarship reasons. Valedictorian and Salutatorian will be determined at that time as well.

The procedure for calculating rank will be as follows:

For standard classes:
A = 4.0
B = 3.0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0

For Honors classes:
A = 4.5
B = 3.5
C = 2.5
D = 1.5
F = 0

For Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement classes:
A = 5.0
B = 4.0
C = 3.0
D = 2.0
F = 0
