December 9, 2014 - Orientation and swearing-in of Textbook Adoption Committee

By January 9, 2015Textbook samples delivered to schools and district office and set up in a central location in the building

January 20, 2015 - Textbook Caravan Showcase/Publisher Presentations

February 3, 2015 - Parent/Community Viewing of Textbooks

(All parents and community stakeholders are invited to stop by and view the textbooks up for adoption and provide feedback from 7:00am – 7:00pm at the GMSD District Office West Wing) 

By February 6, 2015 – Textbook Adoption Committee Members Redeliver Publisher Presentations to math teachers in schools

By February 20, 2015 – Grade level/subject area teachers from each school submit a completed rubric to their textbook committee member. To provide individual feedback, teachers can complete a survey in My Learning Plan (link provided first week in February).

February 24, 2015 at 4:30 - Math textbook committee members bring all rubrics from teachers to district office and come to a consensus using all feedback from teachers and parents.  Complete Process Waivers for books not on the state approved list.

March Board Meeting, 2015 – Present the list of selected K-12 math textbooks to the GMSD Board for consideration and approval. 

(GMSD Academic Advancement Department and Board Members)

By April 15, 2015 – The GMSD Report of Adoption is due to the TN Department of Education and to the TN Book Company.
