Ms. Angela Martin is one of the unsung heroes of Dogwood Elementary. She has taught Physical Education here for nearly 20 years. She also runs the Safety Patrol program, and she and Mrs. Guntharp were awarded the highest fund raising for Jump Rope for Hearts for the State of Tennessee last year. If you're around Ms. Martin long, you'll see that she has a sweet and fun disposition.
Ms. Martin is the amazing single parent of three beautiful daughters, two twins at Collierville High and one in college. She loves spending time with her family, making memories. She loves how the students get excited about P.E., and all of the different games and skills she gets to teach. Everyday she will hear a student say, "I can't wait to come to PE today!!!" What other job provides motivation like that?
Her favorite memories at Dogwood are from events like Sock Hop, Pioneer Day, Western Day, and of course Field Day. She enjoys seeing the students perform for their parents and watching how much the parents enjoy it as well. One of her favorite days of all time was Water Day. The students wore swimsuits to school. That day, they had two water slides and a field with sprinklers and beach balls. The fire department came and sprayed the students from the top of their truck ladder, and they had a snow cone truck...BEST DAY EVER!
Thanks, Ms. Martin for all you do at Dogwood!
