Homecoming Week: Coming Home

Dress up days: 
Monday - Orlando, FL (Disney, tourist, Hawaiian/beachy); 
Tuesday - NYC (trendy, modern, dressy); 
Wednesday - Portland, OR (hippy, outdoorsy); 
Thursday - Houston, TX (country); 
Friday - Memphis, TN (local, 901, St Jude(gold), Tigers, Grizzlies)

Activities during the week will include a CycleGiving Ride with CycleBar with proceeds going to St. Jude on Tuesday, September 18. Gibson's donuts will be sold in the morning before school with proceeds going to St Jude on Wednesday, September 19. During all lunches, there will be a photo booth for those participating in dress up days and activities.

Homecoming Dance will be at Minglewood Hall on September 22 from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, September 13 - Thursday, September 20 during all lunches. Couple tickets: $50 and Single tickets: $35

Ten Houston High School students join the elite rank of National Merit Semi-Finalists

Germantown, Tennessee--September 12, 2018--Ten Houston High School students join the ranks of the nation's top students this year as the National Merit Scholarship Program names its semi-finalists. About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) last fall.

EMPOWERING and PREPARED: Coach McFerrin to speak tonight at Houston High!

All Female students are invited to this event tonight in the Houston High Auditorium at 6:30pm.

We will be speaking about living intentionally while building a network of support amongst women in our school, while equipping and empowering them to handle the pressures of an ever-changing world.

Our special guest and speaker for the evening will be the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Memphis, Melissa McFerrin. She is a former Division 1 athlete, Coach of The Year winner and currently the longest tenured Head Coach at the University. She will speak about dealing with performance anxiety and being a high-profile woman in a position of power in the world of athletics.

Germantown Municipal School District goes gold while promoting September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Germantown, Tennessee--September 11, 2018--From Houston Middle School hosting a fundraising PJ Day, to the sale of specially themed Blow Pops at Houston High School--the entire district is gearing up to go gold in support of St. Jude in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness month.  Join us on Septmember 22 for the annual St. Jude Walk Run.
