GPAC Summer Arts Camp 2017

Fairytale Ballet

Session 1: June 12-16, 9-12pm

Session 2: June 19-23, 9-12pm

Ages 3-6, Fee: $150

Child may only sign up for 1 session.

Be our guest at this magical ballet camp as we explore the beloved story of Beauty and the Beast. Experience the classic fairy tale through stories, crafts, ballet, creative movement, music and of course fun! Watch your little one become the belle of the ball on the final day in a special performance for family and friends.

Music Performance Workshop

Date: June 26-30, 9-12pm

Ages 10-18, Fee: $175

Ready to take your shredding or vocals to the next level? This camp taught by singer/guitarist Josh Threlkeld, is designed for more advanced students who are interested in translating their skills to the stage. Students will work individually and in small ensembles to build confidence and improve performance technique. This camp will finish with a showcase for family and friends and additional opportunities to perform over the summer.

Be a Star Dance Camp

June 26-30, 1-4pm

Ages 6-10, Fee: $150

Ever wanted to STAR in a music video? In this week of camp dancers will take classes in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance and learn how dance is captured on film. Students will learn choreography and acting techniques which will culminate in a video shoot on the last day. A copy of the video will sent via email to all participants.

Artventures in Drawing and Painting

July 10-14, 9-12pm

Ages 5-7, Fee: $160

Do you like to draw, paint, sculpt and sketch? This camp is for you! Learn about a different artist every day and create your own masterpieces inspired by artists new and old, the masters and the contemporary. Discover the greats and become the best artist you can be!

Art U Wear

July 10-14, 1-4pm

Ages 8-12, Cost: $160

Use your imagination to create all things wearable. Students will examine how clothing and items we put on our bodies reflect and shape who we are while learning the techniques to create these items. Experiment with fabric painting, weaving and other techniques to create cool and unique clothing, jewelry, wallets and backpacks.

Superhero Stories

July 17-21, 9-12pm

Ages 6-11, Fee: $150

Calling all super heroes and heroines! The world needs saving! All your kids' favorite characters collide in this weeklong camp where students will explore acting, movement and voice while creating their own play. Kids can choose their favorite character or create their own, while discovering that power can come from the most unlikely places! We will finish the week with a short performance for family and friends.

Play that Guitar!

Date: July 24-28, 9-12pm

Ages 8-16, Fee: $175

Need the spark to get you started on the guitar? Taught by Memphis musician, Josh Threlkeld, this camp is designed to electrify the ability and creativity of a beginning/intermediate student. Students will spend the week sharpening their technique, learning a song and collaborating with peers. The week culminates in a showcase where students can show off their new songs and skills. Students must provide their own guitars.
