All parents of students grades 6-12, mark your calendars for student laptop/iPad pickup

Please mark your calendars to attend your deployment event at your child's school.  Device orientation and deployment should last about 1.5 hours. During the session, you and your child will participate in a presentation by the curriculum technology department before receiving your device.
 

Parents will need to pay the fee on the MySchoolBucks website (not the mobile app) prior to your assigned orientation date, and print a copy of the receipt to bring with you to the orientation session. The mobile app will only let you add funds to your child’s lunch account. The fee for high school students is $50 and the fee for middle students is $30.  To pay the device fee online:

  • Go to https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/login/getmain from a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Click on TECHNOLOGY MAINTENANCE FEE
  • Click on HIGH SCHOOL LAPTOP MAINTENANCE FEE
  • Fill out form completely and click ADD TO BASKET
  • Click on Shopping Basket in upper right corner to complete the payment.  
 
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
 
GMSD will deploy student iPads for students in grades 6-8 during the week of July 30th. To accommodate families’ work schedules, we have scheduled device orientation and deployment during evening hours. See below for the specific date for each grade level.

Mon, July 30 – RES 6th, 7th and 8thgrades
Tue, July 31 – HMS 6th grade
Wed, Aug 1 – HMS 7th grade
Thurs, Aug 2 – HMS 8th grade

We will meet in the cafeteria. Report times are based on your student’s last name. Last names beginning with A-K, please report at 5:00p. Last names beginning with L-Z please report at 6:30p.

Tue, Aug 7th is the Makeup Day for both RES and HMS. Orientation for HMS will start at 5:00pm in the HMS cafeteria and the orientation for RES will start at 5:00pm in the RES cafeteria.

There is a $30 iPad Maintenance Fee to cover the cost of repairs and maintenance. Families with multiple students in the Blended Learning Program will only be expected to pay a maximum of $100. Please send an email to mason.grace@gmsdk12.org if this applies to you.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • Mon, July 23 – HHS 9th grade
  • Tue, July 24 – HHS 10th grade
  • Wed, July 25 – HHS 11th grade
  • Thurs, July 26 – HHS 12th grade
  • Fri, July 27 is the HHS Makeup Day, 8:00a-3:00p in room M12 (located between the reference library and the attendance office).

We will meet in the Houston High School Auditorium. Report times are based on your student’s last name. Last names beginning with A-K, please report at 5:00p. Last names beginning with L-Z please report at 6:30p.
