Tune in here for a peek at Dogwood Idol

No need to tune into ABC, Dogwood has more than enough tunes and talent right here. On May 15th, Dogwood students showcased their performance skills in an American-Idol inspired talent and lip sync competition, entitled Dogwood Idol. This fun evening featured students of all ages, truly featuring the array of talent present at DES.

In the kindergarten through second grade division Sophia Rus took home second prize, and cheer girls Lila Gilchrist, Garland White, Kate Twiford, and Lucy Linn won first place. In the third through fifth grade division, Marco Ovando received third, Louise Vezina won second, and Abby Wang, Renee Wang, and Angela Zhuang were all awarded first prize for their Chinese dance.

As for the lip sync division of competition, Eva and Grayden Barker won best costumes, Reese Richie won best lip sync, and Aiden Parks and Carnival, featuring students from Mrs. Lowe’s class, won first overall.

We are so pleased to have seen so many of our students showcase their exemplary talents in this fun and unique way and absolutely cannot wait until next year.
