Bailey Price of Germantown has been named a President's Scholar at Southern Methodist University, where she will be a first-year student in the fall of 2017.
The SMU President's Scholars program attracts some of the most academically gifted students in the nation. Each year, approximately 25 high school seniors are chosen from an
applicant pool of over 8,000.
Bailey attends Houston High School and will begin her undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University in the fall. Bailey plans to major in International Studies and Public Relations at SMU.
SMU President's Scholars receive full tuition and fees for four years of undergraduate study, plus tuition and transportation for study in one of SMU's international programs. They also have opportunities to meet informally with visiting scholars of national and international stature and with public and corporate leaders in the Dallas community. Bailey has also received a Campus Community Award, which pays for room and board while living in a University residence hall.
SMU is a private, comprehensive university located in Dallas. It has an enrollment of about 11,000 students and a full-time faculty of more than 700. SMU offers undergraduate degree programs in Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, Meadows School of the Arts, Edwin L. Cox School of Business, Lyle School of Engineering, and the Simmons School of Education and Human Development. Graduate and professional programs are offered in these schools and in Perkins School of Theology and Dedman School of Law.
