Come support Riverdale arts at family Farm Park event

While the trademarks of vacation often include swimming, sun, and fun, summer break can sometimes lend itself to some summer boredom. In order to help fill these sun-soaked days, Riverdale Elementary School has planned an amazing family-friendly event absolutely free to the public.

On July 13, the Riverdale Art Department will be the “Featured Artist” at the Germantown Farm Park Farmer’s Market.

All three Riverdale art teachers, Melissa Cychowski, Tracy Sammons, and Erin Sutton, will coordinate the painting of tree cookies and allow students to tap into their colorful creativity. These tree cookies will then be added to the swirling Tree of Life mural begun last year and displayed at the Farm Park year-round.

There will also be a cooking demonstration with a surprise celebrity chef, and live music provided by Riverdale faculty member, Brent Hopper, and his band The Whippersnappers. The Whippersnappers will delight audiences young and old with their mixture of folk, rock, blues, and bluegrass music.

The festivities will kick off at 4:30, and admission is free. We encourage everyone to come out and support Riverdale arts with the entire family at what is sure to be a ton of summer fun!
