HMS & HHS BOTH take home regional titles in cheerleading

The Houston Middle and High cheer teams flipped, chanted, and cheered with endless spirit and expert precision this past Tuesday.  Right here, in our own City of Germantown, these cheer teams have established themselves as one of the best athletic cheer programs in the nation.

Both squads, each having several national championships under their belts, know the importance of preparation for intense competition. The girls on the high school team have been practicing together since May and have been preparing the national-quality routine performed for over a month. Fortunately, all these efforts came to fantastic fruition with both the middle and high school squads winning first place in their respective divisions.

“The best feeling that day wasn’t really winning,” said cheer senior Delaney Hayes, who has moved through both the middle and high school programs, “It was the team hitting the routine and all the stunts solidly and hearing the crowd go crazy.”

This win also qualifies both of the teams for a bid in the large division at nationals, which they hope to extend to the super division once they compete at state.

We wish these phenomenal athletes the best of luck as they continue to cheer throughout this season, and we cannot wait to see them flip and fly their way to glory at the state and national level.
