Germantown Firefighters perform annual safety show to elementary-aged children

The Germantown Fire Department is helping to keep Halloween safe for young children by visiting elementary schools and sharing their best Halloween and fire safety tips to ensure the holiday is more fun than fearful.

To engage students, the firemen presented both laughter and lessons in the form of a fun show to celebrate this National Fire Safety Week. The performance included an array of beloved characters like Batman, The Joker, and other villains, who taught valuable, potentially life-saving lessons through their tales.

Riverdale Elementary students LOVE the Germantown Fire Department

Students learned how to form a fire safety plan, that there should always be two ways to exit a home in case of emergency, the importance of establishing a central meeting place, and more and, in addition to the instruction on fire safety, were given reminders about Halloween Trick-or-Treating safety too. It was truly an educational and entertaining experience for all.

Our GFD provided an excellent and educational time. The Germantown Fire Department is a local gem for taking the time to rehearse and create something so special and important to share with our students.
