Germantown, Tennessee—September 21, 2018—Germantown Municipal School District is extremely proud of Dogwood Elementary, Farmington Elementary, Houston Middle School, and Riverdale Elementary School for achieving the “Reward School” designation.
Reward status is the top distinction a school can earn in Tennessee. It is the highest state accolade for a school based on student achievement, growth, and subgroup performance. Only a small percentage of schools in the state earned Reward status.
Today, we are celebrating that FOUR schools have been recognized as reward schools, our district achievement was in the top ten in seven of nine tested areas, and GMSD earned an overall TVAAS Level 5 (the highest growth score for a district).
“All of these accolades validate our staff’s commitment to academic excellence and their dedication and efforts to ensure that all of our students succeed. We commend the hard work and commitment of our teachers, support staff, school and district leaders, students, and parents in raising the bar and providing multiple opportunities for growth,” said Superintendent Jason Manuel.
