GMSD students walk 31,315 miles last semester--enough to walk across the state of Tennessee 63 times

Germantown, Tennessee--January 15, 2019-- Walk Across Tennessee is a team-based walking program where teams are encouraged to cumulatively walk the equivalent of the length of Tennessee (about 500 miles) over an eight-week period. The several classes at GMSD that participated in this event not only gained healthy lifestyle habits along the way, but fun physical activity prizes for classes to utilize during recess if the goal of 500 miles was met.

Some of these prizes included kickballs, kickball bases, footballs, jump rope, and throwing scoops with whiffle balls. The top three placing classes were even awarded bragging rights trophies.
