FES student's spelling bee performance has school buzzing

ABC may be as easy as 123, but spelling words like superfluous or acquiesce certainly are not. This makes the achievement of Farmington Elementary fourth grader, Jack Chow, all the more impressive. Jack competed in the 2018 Tennessee Titans Regional Spelling Bee this past March 10th.

After winning the Farmington Elementary Bee, Chow was invited to travel to Nashville to compete against 71 other students from middle and west Tennessee in an epic battle of wits and words. He learned over 1200 words for the competition and was ecstatic to be representing his homeroom with Ms. McMinn and FES there.

In Nashville, he performed fantastically and became one of the youngest competitors to make the Top Ten. He ended the bee with an impressive tie for fourth place.

We are so excited Jack was able to excel so well on this extremely competitive level. We cannot wait to see how he continues to achieve and expand upon his love of words in the coming years. Congratulations Jack!
