HHS & HMS Orchestras take first place in national competition at Disney World

Each year, Disney World offers a competition series known as Festival Disney for instrumental, vocal and auxiliary ensembles. At the festival, schools are given a chance to experience some Disney magic while giving students a chance to compete with other orchestras from schools across the country.  Each ensemble also receives personalized feedback by distinguished collegiate music educators.

After a fun day at Universal Studios and Disney’s The Animal Kingdom, both the Houston High School and Houston Middle School School orchestras won the first place in their respective classes at the 2018 competition in Orlando this past weekend. The trip ended with an iconic visit to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
