State Department releases NEW parent guides for TNReady
"A year in the classroom should produce a year of learning. TNReady is Tennessee’s statewide assessment designed to measure what students have learned at the end of class." 
Window to apply for classroom and school level grants through the GEF opens
The Germantown Education Foundation has announced they are ready to receive applications for their 2017 Individual Educator and School Grants. "It's time to imagine ways to enhance your classroom," said GEF Executive Director Stephanie Brockway.  
Counseling Department offers adolescent and substance abuse workshop for parents
The guidance department has arranged for a counselor from Bradford Health Services (located in Germantown) to come to Houston High School on April 6th to talk with middle and high school parents about adolescence and substance abuse issues. 
Two GMSD schools compete in a national competition in Atlanta
Last weekend the HMS chamber orchestra, HMS orchestra, RES orchestra, and RES band traveled to the World Strides Festival in Atlanta to compete.  A fine showing by all groups in the competition and a trip to provide memories that last for a lifetime 
Riverdale Kindergarten Camp
