Soccer Program to reward $10,000 to person who can make a hole-in-one
Every year, Houston High soccer program hosts a community golf tournament held at The Links at Galloway Golf Course. The golf tournament is a four-person scramble, $100 per person. Participants can play and/or donate to the program.
An Artistic Year in Review: A chance to view the top artwork of HHS students next Thursday
Join the Houston High School 's National Art Honor Society students as they present their works in the 2016 Spring Arts Exhibition at the school next Thursday, April 21st from 5:30pm - 7:00pm.
Riverdale hosts an Outdoor Work Day, open to the general public
Save the date, Sat. April 16th 9AM-noon. Stacy Stevens, Riverdale Environmental Club sponsor, will be signing for student service hours. Middle or high school students must receive permission in advance from their individual organization. Students not attending for service hours will need an adult with them. Master Gardeners needed too!

Sparking STEM fascination in the earlier grades
The 8th graders planned this day to introduce 6th graders to what STEM is all about. Activities included robotics, chemistry and physics. The activities were designed to spark interest in STEM classes and the upcoming STEM summer camp.

From the classroom to the community: Fidget Mats for Alzheimer Patients
Strewn about the classroom, colorful fabric squares that offer a plethora of activities, are being worked on by diligent teams of students. “[These fidget mats] provide a way for the elderly, who are suffering from Alzheimer’s, to keep themselves occupied in a fun and unique way,” explains Tori Heavey, the Vice President of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
Antonio Scott honored at Grizzlies game with prestigious scholarship
Houston High School Senior Antonio Scott is the 2016 recipient of the prestigious Don Poier Memorial Scholarship given by the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation. Antonio was officially awarded the scholarship Tuesday night at the Grizzlies game against the Chicago Bulls.
