Tuesday, August 18
 
Students across the district auditioned for Fall plays and musicals. At Riverdale, students battled it out for roles in Into the Woods Jr. Meanwhile, over at Houston High School the cast list for Twelve Angry Jurors was posted. Over the weekend, students from Farmington Elementary, Dogwood Elementary, and Houston Middle School auditioned for The Lion King Jr.

Brian Fisher, Coordinated School Health Coordinator, was featured in the Germantown News—outlining all of the ways that GMSD is keeping kids healthy in the classroom. We’ve copied a version here on our website.
 
 

Thursday, August 20
 
The technology department rolled out the Blended Learning 1:1 Program—putting laptops in the hands of nearly 100 high school ninth and tenth graders and explaining the pilot to parents in a series of parent meetings. Read more about the pilot program here.
 
 
 
Friday, August 21
 
Houston High School celebrated their new artificial turf field with a big ribbon cutting ceremony. The donors were invited to participate and were recognized on the field. See a video of the evening here. Click here for some great photos of the event.

Germantown Farmer's Market every Thursday from 4:00-7:30 pm. This Thursday is our last Farmer's Market of the year and they are honoring teachers. Special goody bags will be available to the first 40 teachers who attend the market. They also plan to have information regarding field trips and school supplies.
