GMSD's Clear Bag Policy

GMSD's goal with this new policy is to enhance safety for all campus visitors and streamline our entry process, following national security trends. 

For visitors with a non-compliant bag, you will be asked to return to your vehicle. GMSD will also have clear bags available for purchase at a low cost. Unattended bags left at the gate or on any GMSD campus property will not be allowed. 

Exceptions will be made with inspection for medically necessary items and bags. Diaper bags are not allowed, but diaper bag items are allowed as long as they are in a compliant bag. 

No, clear backpacks are not allowed. Only the standard 12" x 6" x 12" clear bag or Ziploc-style bag up to a gallon size are allowed. 

Yes, but these items can not be in a bag or large case. They must be carried openly or in a clear approved bag. 

*Exceptions will be made for media who have undergone the appropriate screening and bag inspection. 

GMSD does not allow outside food, drinks, containers, cups, or water bottles (including empty reusable bottle and disposable bottles) inside any athletic events. 

Student-athletes participating in the event or arriving directly from a practice/game may bring their bags through a designated entry. Bags will be inspected and stored as needed. All other students must comply with the clear bag policy.
