HHS Knowledge Bowl Team won their second round match against Bartlett High School

Germantown, TN--January 5, 2022-- The Houston High School Knowledge Bowl team won a second round match against Bartlett High School on December 6th, 2021. The HHS Knowledge Bowl team is now in the “Elite Eight” out of 32 schools competing in this year’s academic competition. Knowledge Bowl is a single elimination competition: once defeated, that school is eliminated from all future rounds for that school year. The HHS team has been practicing tirelessly after school and have competed well in all of their past rounds, leading to these last few. The recent Bartlett round will air on WREG Channel 3 on January 29th, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. HHS’s K-Bowl coach, Mrs. Martha Poole states it was “an exciting match with a close score throughout.” Mrs. Poole has been coaching teams since 1991 and is very pleased with these hard-working, bright students. The team is diligently preparing for Round 3 against White Station High School on January 18th. If they win, semi-final and championship rounds will be taped in February. Only the top 4 teams will guarantee themselves a spot in next year’s competition and the rest are drawn through a raffle. HHS Knowledge Bowl is a great opportunity for students with quiz-bowl learning interests and enthusiasm in this competition style. kids at kbowl
