The first opportunity for students to be a part of is the volunteer GMSD Student Ambassador Program. The students in this program serve as a bridge between the district and the Germantown community. Their responsibilities include participating in local government events, representing their respective schools at community gatherings, and potentially being featured in student spotlights. This program encourages a strong connection between the district and the community while also empowering students to be influential and visible advocates for their schools.
Students in the Ambassador program are divided up into teams. These teams are led by the Ambassador Executive Council. The Executive Council is made up of students who best showcase themselves as leaders, good listeners, and advocates. The Executive Council is divided based on interests, and the groups for the 23-24 year are Academics, Athletics, Student Life, and the Arts. Each Ambassador is able to meet the Executive Council to see which group best aligns with their interests and school involvement.
All Ambassadors gather together for quarterly meetings with the district Communications team, but there are other events that take place in between these meetings that allow for volunteer opportunities.
