Riverdale Elementary School

Where REAL Lifelong Connections Are Made

Riverdale School is the only PreK–8 campus in Germantown Municipal School District, which means we get to do something pretty special: walk alongside students and families through nearly a decade of learning, growing, and figuring out who they are. With close to 1,200 students, Riverdale is a big school that still feels personal. Our staff knows kids by name, families by story, and siblings by reputation.

Our campus is built for possibility, with two gymnasiums, a STEM lab that houses our Raider TV station, dedicated choir and band rooms, and three art studios that stay busy. Academics are strong, expectations are high, and opportunities are everywhere. From the classroom to clubs, performances, and leadership roles, students are encouraged to try things, take risks, and find what lights them up.

What truly sets Riverdale apart is the connection. Families are engaged, our PTO is active and supportive, and there is a real sense that we are in this together. It’s a community where people show up, pitch in, and care deeply about kids.

If you are looking for a place where relationships matter, creativity is encouraged, and you can watch students grow from four-year-olds into confident eighth graders, Riverdale is a pretty great place to be.

Houston Middle School

Where Innovation Meets Community

Houston Middle School is the original and only dedicated middle school in Germantown Municipal School District, serving nearly 1,000 students in grades 6–8. This is the place where kids really start figuring out who they are, what they like, and where they fit—and our job is to make sure they feel supported, challenged, and known while they do it.

HMS is intentionally built around connection. Our House System gives every student a smaller community within a big school, creating a strong sense of belonging, healthy competition, and leadership opportunities. It’s loud, it’s fun, and it works. Students take pride in their house and in each other.

Academically, Houston Middle offers a wide range of electives, from coding and robotics to culinary arts, broadcasting, and creative courses that let students explore interests they may not even know they have yet. We also believe middle schoolers still need time to move, play, and reset, which is why you’ll see recess built into the day. It’s not an extra. It’s part of how we support the whole child.

The leadership team at HMS is always pushing forward—trying new ideas, listening to students, and adapting to what this age group really needs. The result is a campus that feels energetic, innovative, and genuinely student-centered.

If you’re looking for a school that understands middle schoolers, values relationships, and isn’t afraid to do things differently, Houston Middle is exactly that kind of place.

Dogwood Elementary

Where All Dolphins Belong

Dogwood Elementary has been part of the fabric of its neighborhood since 1977. Tucked into a residential area where many students still walk or bike to school, Dogwood feels like the kind of place where everyone knows each other—and most of the time, they really do. With about 640 students in PreK through 5th grade, it’s big enough to offer strong programs and opportunities, but small enough to feel personal.

The phrase “All Dolphins Belong” is more than a motto here. It’s how the school operates. Students are known, supported, and celebrated for who they are. Teachers and staff work hard to create a welcoming, steady environment where kids feel safe to try, fail, learn, and grow. There is a strong focus on building both academic skills and confidence, because Dogwood believes those two things go hand in hand.

As a true neighborhood school, families are engaged and connected. Parents show up. Teachers invest deeply. Relationships matter. It’s the kind of place where you can see the impact of your work every single day, whether that’s in a reading breakthrough, a smile in the hallway, or a student who finally believes in themselves.

Dogwood is warm, grounded, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a school that feels like home and values every child who walks through its doors, this is it.

Forest Hill Elementary School

Find Your Place at the Forest

Forest Hill Elementary opened in 2019, and in a short time it has become one of the highest-performing public schools in Tennessee. Serving nearly 700 students from preschool through fifth grade, Forest Hill blends strong academics with a genuinely joyful school culture. It is a place where kids are challenged, supported, and celebrated, and where teachers are trusted to do great work.

The campus itself is part of the experience. Set on 23 rolling acres, Forest Hill features walking paths, a learning garden, outdoor classrooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the building with natural light. Students are encouraged to explore, move, and connect with their environment. Learning does not feel boxed in here, and that matters.

Inside the building, the focus is just as intentional. Teachers work to meet students where they are and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Curiosity is encouraged. Kindness is expected. Effort is valued. There is a strong sense that every child brings something special to the table, and every adult plays a role in helping them discover it.

Forest Hill also feels like a true community. Families are involved, staff are connected, and students are proud to be here. The phrase “Find Me at the Forest” is not just branding. It is something you hear kids say with real ownership.

If you are looking for a school that blends high expectations with warmth, innovation with heart, and excellence with joy, Forest Hill is exactly that kind of place.
