Explore The Highlights of the Master Plan
The Houston High School Master Plan is organized into four key areas, or "buckets," for potential phasing: arts, academic spaces, athletics, and overall operations. Each of these categories was shaped by its own subcommittee of teachers, students, parents, and community members, ensuring a collaborative vision that meets diverse needs.
Explore the highlights of each subsection below, from practical improvements to the "pie in the sky" ideas proposed by our committees. These visionary plans reflect the creativity and ambition of our stakeholders, setting the stage for a dynamic future at Houston High.

A Broad Overview
The operational facilities improvements in the Houston High School Master Plan will be strategically incorporated into one of the three major phases: academics, fine arts, or athletics. Key upgrades include parking and traffic flow improvements, modernized office spaces, and lunchroom enhancements to better serve our growing campus community. Additionally, GMSD will address smaller projects—such as ceiling tile and grid replacements, LED lighting upgrades, bathroom renovations, and painting—through its regular capital budget, ensuring continuous improvement alongside the phased implementation of the master plan.
