GMSD Tuition
For the 2026-2027 school year, per GMSD policy #6.2061, non-resident transfer students will be required to pay tuition. For non-resident students who live in Shelby County, but outside of Germantown, the tuition amount is $531.00. You must be an approved transfer student for the current school year to attend a GMSD school.
For students of a GMSD or City of Germantown employee, tuition is waived upon employment verification.
Tuition Rates for the 2026-2027 School Year
Tuition rates for the 2026-2027 school year are based on per pupil, per annum, the amount equal to the per pupil amount received by GMSD from Shelby County and the City of Germantown during the preceding school year. Tuition payments are non-refundable and must be paid in full as a one-time payment.
The link to pay tuition will be emailed to families that are granted transfers or accepted into the Houston High School academies. Returning students who are required to pay tuition may pay in person at the district office or through their child's SchoolCash Online. The amount due for tuition is already added to each student's SchoolCash Online account.
Families who qualify for the Free & Reduced Meals program for the 2026-2027 school year are not required to pay tuition. You can learn more about our Free & Reduced Meals Program on our School Nutrition page. The Free & Reduced Meals application process will be available in the summer of 2026. If you feel that you may qualify for assistance through the Free & Reduced Meals Application, please do not pay tuition until you have been notified of acceptance or denial.
