  • Manage state and federal accountability reporting and requirements.
  • Coordinate district benchmarks and assessments to track student progress.
  • Analyze data to inform instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
  • Monitor and report Ready Graduate tracking metrics to support postsecondary readiness.
  • Provides professional development and support to Building Testing Coordinators for state testing.
  • Provides state and federal accountability professional development and support to administrators and teachers

Blended Learning Supervisor

  • Lead district-wide instructional technology initiatives and the instructional technology team.
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of digital programs, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technology tools.
  • Lead the strategic rollout of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and initiatives to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Provide ongoing professional development, training, and support for educators on effectively utilizing instructional technology in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with educators and administrators to refine and implement blended learning strategies that increase student engagement and achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with state requirements for K-12 computer science education, including the integration of digital citizenship curriculum across grade levels

Federal Programs and Fine Arts Supervisor 

  • Oversee Federal Programs, including Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, and ESSER.
  • Implements compliance procedures and oversees federal funding.
  • Supports English Language Learners through program development, teacher support, professional development and resource allocation.
  • Assist with placement of students new to the country.
  • Act as Homeless, Immigrant, Migrant, and Family Liaison, providing essential services and support to ensure student success.
  • Supports Fine Arts teachers with professional development, event planning,instructional resources and evaluations.
  • Manage Fine Arts programming, including non-faculty instructor requirements and program funding.
  • Develop and oversee District and School Improvement Plans to align with state and federal guidelines.

Instructional Supervisor

Instructional Supervisor

A 20+ year educator, Mr. Gillespie began his career as a high school English teacher and has served GMSD in several leadership roles, including a prior stint as Instructional Supervisor before his most recent service as Vice Principal at Houston High. While he’s cherished his time at HHS and the meaningful relationships he’s built, Bill is excited to return to the work that first drew him into leadership—supporting curriculum, instruction, and teacher development at the district level.
