Commonly Asked Questions About Field Trip Applications

How soon should I start planning my field trip?

When can I communicate with parents about our field trip and begin to collect field trip funds? When can I book buses for my field trip?

What information will I need prior to submitting the field trip form?

Here is some information that you will need to complete the Field Trip form:

Location (including address)
Names of adults attending
Number of students attending
If a nurse will be needed
Transportation (i.e. bus, charter, private vehicles, airplane, etc)
Date(s) of your trip
How much the trip costs
Standards connected to the trip
Activities students participated in prior to trip
Plan for follow up activities
Schedule of events (typed on a separate document to be uploaded)

What do I need to include in my schedule of events?

.Your schedule of events should give a brief overview of when you will leave and return to campus as well as the activities you will participate in while off campus, including times. This is a safety precaution so that in the case of an emergency we will have a general idea of where to locate your group throughout your time off campus.

Ex: Zoo Field Trip

Can I make changes to my Field Trip request once it has been approved? What is the difference between pre-approval and final approval?

For changes to date or location, please complete a new Field Trip request. For any other minor changes, please communicate those with your school administrator.

You are required to obtain pre-approval from both your principal and Megan Gaschler

before your trip. You do not need final approval.

Please reach out to Megan Gaschler with any Field Trip questions or concerns.
