Mrs. Berry’s Bullfrogs Celebrate Boosterthon with a Class Campout

Mrs. Berry’s Bullfrogs Celebrate Boosterthon with a Class Campout

Mrs. Berry’s Bullfrogs found a creative way to celebrate their hard work during Dogwood Elementary’s recent Boosterthon fundraiser: they turned their classroom into a campsite for the day!

To celebrate her students’ enthusiastic participation in Boosterthon, Mrs. Berry hosted a class campout right in their classroom. Students arrived ready for the adventure, bringing blankets and flashlights to create a cozy camping atmosphere under their desks.

But this campout wasn’t a break from learning—it was a new way to experience it. The Bullfrogs completed their daily math work while tucked into their classroom “campsites.” They also investigated magnets using paper clips, exploring how magnets work in the dark with only their flashlights to guide their experiments.

The unusual classroom setup gave students an opportunity to experience familiar learning activities in a completely different way. With blankets spread out, flashlights shining, and students learning from beneath their desks, an ordinary school day became a memorable adventure.

The celebration also connected to a message shared by the GMSD superintendent in his annual address at the beginning of the school year: the importance of making moments for students. Mrs. Berry embraced that message by finding a simple and creative way to recognize her students’ hard work while making learning special.

For Mrs. Berry, the celebration was all about putting a fun spin on the accomplishment. As she put it, “We’re celebrating Boosterthon Bullfrog Style!”

With a little imagination, some blankets and flashlights, and plenty of Bullfrog spirit, Mrs. Berry showed that learning can happen anywhere—even under a desk at a classroom campout!
