Color Run Team Challenge Brings Prizes and Purpose

The countdown is on for the annual Germantown Education Foundation Color Run, and GMSD teachers have plenty of reasons to start building their teams now.

The Color Run is one of the community’s most exciting annual events, bringing together students, families, staff, and supporters from across Germantown Municipal School District. Even better, the fun has a purpose. Funds raised through the event help support GMSD schools, giving back to teachers and students through additional resources, programs, and opportunities.

This year, teachers can help build momentum for the race while competing for prizes along the way.

The first prize has already been awarded, with Forest Hill Elementary School kindergarten teacher Molly Sanford earning the opening coffee prize. Now the competition is heating up as the rewards get bigger each week.

Teachers who build their Color Run teams can qualify for lunch delivery, Owala water bottles, Mojo drinks, lunch for an entire grade level, a teacher’s choice prize, and more.

The biggest prize comes during the final week of the campaign, when the teacher with the most team registrations will win a free pair of running shoes from Grivet Outdoors.

Here is what is still up for grabs:

  • Sept. 21-25: Lunch delivery for one teacher with at least five team registrations
  • Sept. 28-Oct. 2: Owala water bottle with at least eight registrations
  • Oct. 5-9: Mojo drink for teachers displaying their race tracker outside their classroom
  • Oct. 19-23: Lunch for an entire grade level with at least 15 registrations
  • Oct. 26-30: Three Owala water bottles with at least 18 registrations, one for the winner and two for teachers of their choice
  • Nov. 2-6: Teacher’s choice of prize with at least 20 registrations, subject to prize limits
  • Nov. 9-13: A free pair of running shoes from Grivet Outdoors for the teacher with the most team registrations

The message for GMSD teachers is simple: keep building your team.

Every registration adds to the energy surrounding the Color Run, strengthens participation across the district, and helps support an event that gives back to GMSD teachers and students.

So display those race trackers, recruit your families and friends, challenge your coworkers, and see how far your team can go.

The more registrations you bring in, the better the prizes get, and the bigger the impact we can make together for GMSD.
