Germantown Municipal School District will host its annual Instructional Materials Adoption Community Preview on Monday, Feb. 23, inviting parents and community members to review and provide feedback on instructional resources currently under consideration for district adoption.

The preview will take place at the GMSD District Office during two open viewing windows: 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. and 3–6 p.m. The event is open to anyone in the Germantown community who is interested in learning more about proposed curriculum materials.

This year’s preview will include instructional materials under review in the following areas:

  • Lifetime Wellness (grades 9–12)
  • STEM (grades 6–12)
  • Computer Science (grades 9–12)

In addition, as required by district policy, GMSD will offer both in-person and digital parent review opportunities for the district’s Family Life Curriculum. The Family Life materials are not new and are not part of this year’s adoption cycle, but are made available annually for family preview.

Dr. Lara Charbonnet, leading this year’s textbook adoption process, said the preview event is an important opportunity for families to stay informed and engaged in the curriculum adoption process.

“We welcome community input and appreciate the partnership of our families as we continue working to provide high-quality instructional resources for our students,” Charbonnet said.

Feedback collected during the preview period will be shared with the textbook committee as part of the formal review process.
