GMSD Schools Honor Veterans with Parades, Programs, and Patriotic Spirit

The Riverdale Choir performs during I love America day

Each November, Germantown Municipal School District opens its doors to local heroes, inviting veterans and active-duty service members to be celebrated by students and staff. Across all campuses, students proudly wave flags, sing patriotic songs, and express heartfelt gratitude to those who have served our nation.


From parades through school hallways to musical tributes and heartfelt assemblies, each GMSD school honors veterans in its own special way:


Forest Hill Elementary School
Forest Hill will host a morning celebration beginning with a reception at 8:30 a.m., followed by a student parade through the halls at 9 a.m. and a program at 9:30 a.m. featuring the Houston Middle School Band, the FHES Choir, and student performances. Veterans and their families can RSVP here.

Dogwood Elementary School
Dogwood invites families to join in honoring local heroes with a Veterans Day celebration on November 11 at 1 p.m. The afternoon event includes a parade and student performances filled with red, white, and blue spirit. See the event flyer below!

Farmington Elementary School
Farmington proudly salutes the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces with a Veterans Day Parade and Program on November 11 at 1:15 p.m. Veterans and their family members are invited to attend and are asked to arrive by 1:10 p.m. RSVP here.

Riverdale K–8 School
Riverdale will host its “I Love America Day” celebration on November 11, beginning with a Veterans Program at 10:30 a.m. featuring the fifth grade, band, choir, and orchestra. A picnic in the park will follow at noon, and the day will conclude with a 1 p.m. Parade of the States.
