The Celebration Tour Hits Every Campus

Jo Ellen at district office is surprised and smiles.

The GMSD Employee Celebration Tour is one of the district’s most energizing traditions, designed to shine a spotlight on the people who make a difference every single day.

Each month, district leaders travel from school to school, surprising employees in their own buildings and celebrating the impact they have on students, staff, and the broader school community. It’s fast-paced, a little unexpected, and a whole lot of fun. Most importantly, it’s a meaningful way to recognize the heart behind the work happening across GMSD.

A surprised look on a FES teacher as she is recognized.

This month’s Celebration Tour was another reminder of the incredible people who power our schools. We were proud to stop by each campus and recognize the following outstanding employees:

  • Jo Ellen Druelinger, District Office
  • Rusty Parsons, Dogwood Elementary School
  • Rosa Deener, Houston High School
  • Joy Watkins, Forest Hill Elementary School
  • Regina Castellaw, Houston Middle School
  • Jennie Ewing, Riverdale School
  • Audrey Powell, Farmington Elementary School

Each of these individuals represents the very best of GMSD. Through their dedication, positivity, and commitment to students, they help create the kind of school experience that sets our district apart.

This celebration would not be possible without the support of our incredible community partners. A special thank you to this month’s sponsors for helping us recognize and reward our staff in such a memorable way:

  • Oh Grate
  • Eggs Up Grill
  • BIGGBY Coffee – South Germantown Pkwy
  • Nothing Bundt Cakes
