Houston High Student-Athletes Sign to Compete at the Next Level

Houston High School is celebrating another strong group of student-athletes who are taking the next step in both their academic and athletic journeys. At the Spring 2026 Signing Day, students were recognized for their commitment to continue competing at the collegiate level, representing a wide range of sports and institutions.

Held on March 25 in the Houston High School Varsity Gym, the event highlighted the dedication, discipline, and years of hard work these athletes have invested in their sports. Families, coaches, and teammates gathered to celebrate each student’s achievement, as members of the athletics staff shared remarks and recognized their accomplishments.

This spring group adds to an already impressive class of signees from earlier in the year, with even more commitments expected in the months ahead. Together, they represent the strength of Houston High’s athletic programs and the continued success of students balancing high-level academics with competitive athletics.

  • Will Ballard – Men’s Basketball, Rhodes College
  • Ella Dacus – Cheerleading, University of Mississippi
  • Scarlet DeCremer – Cheerleading, University of Memphis
  • DeAngelo Hence – Football, Capital University
  • Lilah Jones - Golf, Shelton State Community College
  • Taylor Cole – Swimming, University of Wyoming
  • Eva Rottink – Swimming, Indiana University
  • Roos Rottink – Swimming, University of Virginia
  • Sam Riggen – Swimming, George Mason University
  • Samantha Hardison – Track and Field, Lee University


Each signing represents more than a destination. It reflects years of preparation, perseverance, and support from coaches, teachers, and families along the way.


As these Mustangs prepare to compete at the next level, they carry with them the pride of Houston High School and the Germantown community.
