Houston Lacrosse begins season with a winning streak

The Houston Lacrosse Club traveled to Birmingham, Alabama over spring break to take on area high school teams; Mountain Brook, Hoover and Spain Park. Both JV and Varsity teams won every game, most by a 10 point lead and ended the trip with a 6-0 record.


Houston High Defender, #49, freshman Reed Mullins and #24, sophomore Ty Hensley fight the Hoover attack while #15, HHS sophomore and JV team captain, Parker Mayfield speeds in to get steal the ball.

One spectator was overheard saying, “Houston is the new Alabama state champ!” Varsity Team Captains are Seniors Andrew Wood, Greyson Vollmer and Quinn Gardner. JV Team Captain is sophomore Parker Mayfield. Both teams are under the excellent leadership of Coaches Steve Anderson, Jeff Ross, Wally Gardner, Chuck Smith and HHS sponsor, Tim Boyer.
