HHS Student Antonio Scott takes home the first place trophy in TV Broadcasting

Five students on Houston High School's Speech and Debate team competed at Bartlett High School's invitational speech tournament on Saturday, January 30th. These students represented the freshman, sophomore, and senior classes, as well as their teacher co-sponsors, Mr. John Maness and Mr. Tim Boyer.

Antonio Scott (12) and Ashley Lawton (10) won first and fourth, respectively. Antonio won his second first-place trophy for the schoolyear in TV Broadcasting. Ashley, on the other hand, who took home a second-place award at Tennessee state finals last year, was awarded fourth place in Extemporaneous Speaking. Best of luck to the HHS Speech and Debate team when they take on West Tennessee's most well-spoken high schoolers at the upcoming district tournament!
