Forest Hill Elementary names new Assistant Principal
Caroline Gilbert completes the administrative team at the brand-new Forest Hill Elementary School as an assistant principal. Mrs. Gilbert has served in a leadership position in Collierville Schools and has taught everything from preschool to high school in four different states.  The wife of a Navy pilot, she’s also proficient in four languages. “She comes to us with a wide range of experiences that I know will benefit the students at Forest Hill.  Her varied background across grade levels and with intervention will help our teachers grow as well,” said Principal Zac Percoski.

Mr. Percoski adds that Mrs. Gilbert is energetic and incredibly empathetic.  “We are very excited to have Mrs. Gilbert join the Fox Family.  Mrs. Pickens and I could not be more excited to welcome her to our school community,” said Percoski.

Mrs. Gilbert has most recently served as an interventionist in Collierville Schools where she collected and analyzed data to help school administration drive the best instructional practices.  Prior to that, she worked as a third grade teacher in Collierville. Mrs. Gilbert and her family moved to this area of the country when her husband transitioned from active duty to the reserves a decade ago to “take advantage of the excellent schools.”  Mrs. Gilbert holds her ED.S in Educational Leadership as well as a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  She is currently pursuing her ED.D from Arkansas State University.

“What I am most excited about is being a part of a new school.  I am excited to help form the school’s brand, and to connect with the community from the ground up,” shared Mrs. Gilbert about becoming the new assistant principal of Forest Hill Elementary School.

Brian Fisher transitions from interim assistant principal to full-time assistant principal at Houston Middle School
Brian Fisher will serve as the assistant principal at Houston Middle School. He replaces Jessica Woody, who is now the principal of Dogwood Elementary School.

HMS principal Liz Dias sees Fisher’s passion for working with children and his incredible work ethic as a teacher leader as a real asset to the school community.

“I am so very excited that Mr. Fisher is joining us. He is so passionate about kids and our district. I know the Andalusian students are going to be thrilled,” said Mrs. Dias.

Prior to his work in school administration this spring, Mr. Fisher served as the Supervisor of Coordinated School Health for Germantown Municipal School District.  “I’ve missed being with the kids and having daily interactions with the staff,” he told us.  As the Supervisor of Coordinated Health, he brought many accolades to the district and held leadership positions across the state.   Prior to serving in his leadership role at the district, Mr. Fisher guided physical education at the district level for Shelby County Schools. He also taught physical education in elementary, middle, and high school.
He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Memphis. His Master’s Degree and ED.S in Administration were both completed at Union University.

Mr. Fisher and his wife Josie are the proud parents of young twins and future Houston Middle Mustangs, Blake and Ayla. He is also an outdoors enthusiast, and on the weekends you’ll find him camping, hiking, and fishing with his family.
