Dolphin Tales: DES Fourth graders take a unique field trip during the eclipse

GMSD students were able to view the August 21st partial solar eclipse from schools and neighborhoods all around Germantown, but Dogwood Elementary 4th graders traveled to Nashville for a better view.

Ms. Diane Perry, 4th grade teacher, and 160 students traveled by charter bus to Nashville’s Adventure Science Center. “It was an amazing learning experience for our students to be able to witness a solar eclipse firsthand,” Perry said.

The Nashville Solar Eclipse Festival & Viewing Party included music and games, but Dogwood student Hudson Pence said the best part of their field trip was the viewing. “The solar eclipse was super cool, and I liked how it went super dark!” Pence said.
