Houston High fashion design students to open philanthropic ecommerce store this fall

As Fashion Week picks up in New York City, some GMSD designers will be unveiling masterpieces of their own right here in Germantown.

Houston High’s Fashion Design class will be opening an ecommerce store online, offering the clothing they produce in class for purchase. Entitled Designing Houston, the website-in-progress will feature a variety of upcycled and hand-sewn clothes, all created entirely by the high schooler designers.

Fashion Design teacher, Andra Davis, had this to say of the class’s venture, “Hopefully this will give these advanced students experience with how the fashion retail market is moving today.”

If you wish to support these students in their educational endeavor into the fashion world, all of the pieces will be available on the Designing Houston website students are also designing.

In addition to providing this incredible clothing, the Fashion Design students have also graciously agreed to donate all the proceeds to the hurricane recovery efforts.

We are so supremely impressed with the creativity, business acumen, and generosity of these students, and sincerely hope you will help them succeed in their fashion debut by making a purchase and helping those in need.
