Submitted by Abigail Simone

Germantown, Tennesseee--December 2nd--This year, Colton Lind, as part of his Capstone project, has decided to start a donation drive to support the Future Soldier program with the local Army office here in Memphis. This will help those in need that aren’t able to afford basic hygiene items. This program pertains to high school Seniors and grads that have already joined the Army and are just waiting to ship out. Young men and women come from all over the city with diverse economic situations. Colton would like to raise enough in donations to be able to purchase the basic Items they’ll need before going to boot camp. He will be working closely with Sgt. Schoonover to help approximately 40 future soldiers (both men and women) in our Memphis area before they ship out around the Christmas holidays. Colton is asking for a $10 donation or $10 worth of any items on his list. The Honors Academy students will receive one hour of donation credit for their donation. Please leave your items with your name attached so you will receive credit. The deadline for collections will be December 15th. To learn more catch Colton Lind on WREG’s Live at 9, on December 8that 9:00 AM.
