Spotlight on HHS Knitting and Crocheting Club

Written by Student Reporter: Ashley Yan
Germantown, Tennessee-- March 1, 2022-- Mrs. Sarita Bansal has started a new club at Houston High School, the Knitting and Crocheting Club. Students meet on club days and after school to learn anything from basic stitches to more complex projects. Students of all skill levels are welcome and the club provides knitting needles, crocheting hooks, and yarn. Each student will eventually learn to knit small squares to be pieced together in a large, collective quilt. These quilts and blankets will be donated to the Germantown Animal Shelter. This club has been met with great interest and students all over the school can be seen carrying yarn and working on their individual pieces. Houston High School works to foster and provide a safe space for all interests.
