Career fair at Houston Middle School has a strong community showing
Inside the Houston Middle cafeteria, there are doctors, geologists, and career representatives of all kinds. Outside, droves of community helpers (SWAT team, emergency medical staff, police, and fireman) are demonstrating their wares to middle school students. 
Houston High student grabs the top spot for the state in the National French Test (The Lauréat Concours National de Français)
William Wolf places first in the state of Tennessee for high scores on the National French Test. 
Houston Middle School uses local restaurant to teach a valuable lesson
As a culminating activity for finishing the book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma, in our RTI class this semester, Mrs. Cantkier and Ms. Starks met a group of students and their families at Belly Acres restaurant in Midtown. Spoiler alert, the speakers hinted at an upcoming Germantown location. 
Farmington Students take top prizes in the Math Olympiads Contest
Brian Ding and Nitin Nagarajan scored in the top 2% of 150,000 Math Olympiads worldwide. Nitin has also received the George Lencher Award for a perfect score. 
Registration for Houston High Youth Football Camp goes live
The Houston High Football Team is hosting it's annual summer camp.  Register now to become a part of a now-summer time tradition for the Mustang football enthusiast.  The camp accepts students entering 2nd through 8th grades.  
Houston High Class of 2016 brings in over $32.4 million in scholarship money
Graduation signified an important, record breaking achievement--Houston High brings in an all time high number of scholarship funds. 
Three Latin students earn Perfect Scores on the National Latin Exam; Two students earn Maureen O’Donnell Award for four years of gold medals
Three Houston High Latin students earned perfect scores on the National Latin Exam: Andrew Hines in Latin I and Andrew Rivalto IV and Mohammed Hyder in Latin II. The National Latin exam is administered to over 145,000 students nationwide and from 14 foreign countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Niger, Poland, Switzerland, Zimbabwe, China and France. 
School Board Recognitions (May)
Vijaya Subramani, Brian Fisher, Stephanie Brockway, Elissa Stratton, Lanie Wood, Tony Benzing, the HHS Girls and Boys Tennis Teams, Taichi Kuriyama, Beth Butler, Amy Harrell, Danna Lane, Brandy Thompson, Carla Christian, and Mindy Fischer were all honored this month.  Click here to find out why...  
Student Emma Karst takes home the Elizabeth Brashears Celebrate Literacy Award for her new book
Emma Karst, a fourth grader at Dogwood Elementary, wins a prestigious state award for her new book about a family popcorn farm. 
Houston High Baseball Team knocked it out of the park this season
Congratulations to the Houston High School Baseball team for a an excellent season. The Mustangs have concluded the year with a 26-11 record and both a district and regional championship.
