Houston High School Swim Team Earns Highest Place at State Championships Yet

The Houston High School Varsity Swim Team competed in the TISCA State Championships in Knoxville over the weekend, and they finished 6th place Combined Team, against 132 teams and over 900 athletes from public and private schools. The Girls team finished in 7th place and the boys team finished in 13th. This is the highest Houston has ever finished at State! The Mustangs also finished the highest out of all Shelby County Teams at the meet. 


There were multiple school records set by these swimmers, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments. Check out the individual results below:

Girls 100 Fly - 14th Place- Sam Riggen

 

Boys 100 Fly - 8th Place- Jose Garcia (School Record in Prelims 51.02)

 

Girls 200 Free Relay - 15th place - Choe Frandsen, Taylor Cole, Andie Ford, Ella Smith

 

Girls 100 Back - 1st Place- Roos Rottink 54.35 (School Record), 2nd Place - Eva Rottink

 

Boys 100 Breast - 9th Place - Noah Delk

 

Girls 4 x 100 Relay - 4th Place - 3:32.08 (School Record) Eva Rottink, Sam Riggen,

Ella Smith, Roos Rottink
