MidSouth Model United Nations Conference at Rhodes College Recognizes Exceptional GMSD Students

William Brock, a teacher at Houston High School who sponsors the Model UN, recognized the following students for their awards and achievements:

  1. John Barrett - Honorable Mention John Barrett was awarded Honorable Mention by the committee leadership, which recognizes a delegate for great work and skills in debate. This award is typically given to the top ten delegates in a given committee.

  2. Ayat Kanan - Honorary Delegate Ayat Kanan was awarded Honorary Delegate by the committee leadership. This award recognizes a delegate for great work and skills in debate and is typically given to the top ten delegates in a given committee.

  3. Eduardo Santopuoli - Outstanding Delegate Eduardo Santopuoli was awarded Outstanding Delegate by the committee leadership. This award is a sign of great skill and preparation for the debate and typically means that the recipient was within the top three to four delegates in the committee.

  4. Jenna Cho - Outstanding Delegate Jenna Cho was awarded Outstanding Delegate by the committee leadership. This award is a sign of great skill and preparation for the debate and typically means that the recipient was within the top three to four delegates in the committee.

  5. Livi Hicks - Best Delegate Livi Hicks was awarded Best Delegate by her committee leadership. This top award is given to the delegate who performs, prepares, and is the most knowledgeable in the entire committee.

The GMSD faculty and student body are proud of these exceptional students and their achievements.  Congratulations again to John, Ayat, Eduardo, Jenna, and Livi on their impressive accomplishments!
