About Superintendent Jason Manuel

With a remarkable 28-year history in Germantown Municipal Schools, Jason Manuel's commitment to education is evident in his diverse roles within the district - from a student and teacher to an assistant principal and principal. For the past nine years, he has served as the district's Superintendent, leading with dedication and a vision for continuous improvement.

Superintendent Manuel is an ardent proponent of fostering two-way community communication and effectively leveraging technology to strengthen engagement. Under his guidance, the district's Strategic Plan 2025: Inspiring Personal Excellence has flourished, focusing on increased awareness of educational programs and enhanced parent outreach.

To achieve these goals, Superintendent Manuel and his team introduced a range of innovative communication tools, including the GMSD mobile app, a digital Neighborhood Newsletter, and the "Let's Talk" messaging platform. These initiatives have effectively expanded the district's outreach and engagement with education stakeholders both within the Germantown community and beyond.

The Communication Technology Award for Superintendents is a testament to the collective efforts of the entire Germantown Municipal School District team. In his acceptance speech, Superintendent Manuel expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of injecting enthusiasm and a touch of fun into sharing the district's achievements and message of support for public education.

"We have to be persistent in telling our story as champions of public education," Superintendent Manuel shared. "And it’s great if you can inject a little bit of fun into that message. You have to have a team of incredible people who create a vision and constantly strive for innovative ways to get that message out.”

As a previous recipient of the NSPRA Superintendents to Watch award, Superintendent Jason Manuel's recognition this year reinforces the district's commitment to excellence in communication and embracing cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving needs of families and stakeholders.

working with mr. Manuel is a communication person scream he's like the big big brother that you've always wanted he's a mentor or he's a father figure and he the wonderful friend is always very well prepared like they are truly a part of gmsd each summer wheat a couple of months to really think about our Communications plan just for the year in and of itself so we're really big on the Strategic plan and he is a huge cheerleader in Champion for that each year he comes up with this Larger than Life unique seeds and we like to take that same and carry it forward for all of our communication technology Outreach effort so the last day of our in-service week Mr manual host the biggest party for all of our faculty and staff in the Disco so we all basically Gathering the High School auditorium last year there was a band everyone dresses up and whatever their school theme is really dresses up he has background set prepared it's almost like you're going to a theater performance he really takes on that role not an actor but is a person who's there to inspire intentionality in everything he does the theme is always so personal and it's literally exactly what the community and what our district needs in that very moment mr. Manuel has consistently demonstrated a real level of commitment to communication and the communications plan so it's the expectation that rebuilding have a newsletter so not only does he require or the expectation for all of our schools to have these newsletter he also models that by his own newsletter we have the gmsd neighborhood so it's our weekly memo that Mr manual sent out to all of the community and I'm at newsletter is a video and that video usually high like every single thing that's going on than in the district unwaveringly sit down in that chair and interacts with the general public in that Weekly video Spotlight he present these elaborate speeches each month at the board meeting he goes and who delivers presentations and speeches to different stakeholders in the community he has a focus group of parents okinii stakeholder parent groups I think the most important Keith about him when it comes to communication like a business script like you can truly see who mr. Manuel is when he gets in front of the camera or Winky Wright the email her when she picks up the phone it's the most caring and genuine person I mean really that's who he is and that comes out in everything that he does it every day because that's who he is he's a loving and caring person and when you are that way to the core it's going to come out and everything you do
