Superintendent Jason Manuel Celebrated for Excellence in Communication Technology at NSPRA Conference

GMSD's very own Superintendent was met with applause and a standing ovation when he took the stage to accept the Communication Technology Award for Superintendents.

About Superintendent Jason Manuel

With a remarkable 28-year history in Germantown Municipal Schools, Jason Manuel's commitment to education is evident in his diverse roles within the district - from a student and teacher to an assistant principal and principal. For the past nine years, he has served as the district's Superintendent, leading with dedication and a vision for continuous improvement.

Superintendent Manuel is an ardent proponent of fostering two-way community communication and effectively leveraging technology to strengthen engagement. Under his guidance, the district's Strategic Plan 2025: Inspiring Personal Excellence has flourished, focusing on increased awareness of educational programs and enhanced parent outreach.

To achieve these goals, Superintendent Manuel and his team introduced a range of innovative communication tools, including the GMSD mobile app, a digital Neighborhood Newsletter, and the "Let's Talk" messaging platform. These initiatives have effectively expanded the district's outreach and engagement with education stakeholders both within the Germantown community and beyond.

The Communication Technology Award for Superintendents is a testament to the collective efforts of the entire Germantown Municipal School District team. In his acceptance speech, Superintendent Manuel expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of injecting enthusiasm and a touch of fun into sharing the district's achievements and message of support for public education.

"We have to be persistent in telling our story as champions of public education," Superintendent Manuel shared. "And it’s great if you can inject a little bit of fun into that message. You have to have a team of incredible people who create a vision and constantly strive for innovative ways to get that message out.”

As a previous recipient of the NSPRA Superintendents to Watch award, Superintendent Jason Manuel's recognition this year reinforces the district's commitment to excellence in communication and embracing cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving needs of families and stakeholders.
