October 2023 - Houston High School Senior Sarah Hochman has achieved the status of being named a semi-finalist in the highly esteemed Coca-Cola Scholars Program. This recognition is granted to just 1,514 students, a select group representing the top 1.45% out of a staggering 103,800 applicants from across the nation. The Program Reading Committee is currently assessing these talented students, and from this pool, 250 will proceed as Regional Finalists. Out of these, 150 students will ultimately earn the prestigious title of Coca-Cola Scholars and receive a substantial $20,000 college scholarship.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is a special initiative, a collaboration between Coca-Cola bottlers and The Coca-Cola Company. It stands as the most extensive corporate-sponsored scholarship program in the United States, having generously provided over $84 million in scholarships to more than 6,900 Coca-Cola Scholars since its inception in 1986. Beyond the financial assistance, Coca-Cola Scholars become part of a vibrant community of alumni committed to creating a positive impact on the world.
