About Our Department

The Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Department facilitates educational opportunities based on best practices through collaborating with all stakeholders to: develop a plan, monitor progress, and celebrate the steps each student makes in reaching his/her fullest potential.
 
Education for all children with disabilities
 
Germantown Municipal School District offers a free appropriate public education to all children ages 3-21 who may have orthopedic impairment, health impairment, traumatic brain injury, intellectual disability, emotional disturbance, learning disability, deaf-blind, visual impairment, hearing impairment, speech impairment, autism or multiple disabilities. 
 
ESE services are specially designed to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. These services are provided in special education or general education settings with modifications, accommodations, intervention supports, supplementary aids, and other special arrangements.
