Lipscomb University: Master's Degree- Gifted Education

Graduate programs through Lipscomb University in Gifted/Advanced Academics can prepare you to challenge all learners in the classroom, including your most advanced learners.

Lipscomb University offers a full progression of classes towards a Gifted Endorsement online. This can be completed in two semesters (two courses during the summer and two courses in the spring).

They offer Master's degrees now with a concentration in Gifted Education in addition to a choice concentration (e.g., Instructional Coaching, ELL, Special Education) and Ed.S. degrees with an emphasis in Gifted Education/Advanced Academics.
  • Apply your endorsement to progress towards an advanced degree (Master’s, +30,  Ed.S.)
  • Use strategies to challenge all learners in your classroom.
  • Learn to collaborate to share strategies with other teachers on meeting the needs of gifted students in various settings.

They will also grant course credit for any past work (e.g., Employment Standard in Gifted or other coursework) to any current teacher to apply towards a full endorsement in Gifted Education or even a Master's degree.
Are you a currently licensed educator looking to add a degree or endorsement? Or are you interested in learning more about becoming licensed in the state of Tennessee? Through a funded federal grant (see attached flyer) Vanderbilt has substantial scholarship options for individuals seeking a TVI/vision endorsement and a master’s degree. The training program is in-person, and with this new grant they are bringing back their working professionals program pacing, which allows the space for someone working locally in the greater Nashville area to be employed while working on their Vanderbilt degree. In addition to the funding for this grant program, we have scholarship options for individuals seeking initial teaching licensure as a TVI.
